I have granted myself computer time.. just so my blog not will be shut down. Would never thought I would get tired of my home computer, it has not happened to me in 15 years, at least!:-)

Well, we drove up to the mountains last weekend

So we could get some snow under our feet..

...and a taste of whiteout!

While we were at the mountain it began to snow at home.

Today I fed and observed these little wonders:-)

I have also seen how much little kids love mobile phones.

Larger kids like.. hm?

This post is very gray.. so I just have to trow some color!

Sunday and PsalmChallenge tomorrow, otherwise I do not know what I should have done.

Color or white?

This was my office view yesterday morning.

Still no snow.. it`s tired days..

But great colors when the sun rises

I am very tired of the time

Something like this, from last year

I`m not sure I would have so much snow..

Or?

This is nice!:-)

I have to enjoy the colorful views and travel to the mountain to get snow.

Soon, the days will be brighter and the weather forecast says we will get snow this weekend in south.

(I do not trust them)

New year, new plans

New year, new opportunities..
I have never any New Year`s resolutions (right word?). Do not know if it`s because I never manage to follow them. I`m pretty simple, one day at a time, and I`ll take choice for what I am being led along the way..

Maybe I have some dreams, and too many plans. I have too many plans! So I always say to SpiderDan that I do not mean we have to do it tomorrow. There is so much to do and how can I manage to do everything I want in a short life?:-)
Some plans: Travel to Moldova and maybe Madeira. More scuba diving and climbing. Hiking to places I only dream about.. There is so many places I want to see:-)

Celebreated New Year`s Eve at Straand Hotel in Vrådal in black/white and Pepsi.

Simple and Boring? That`s me:-)

It began to snow just before they sent up fireworks, of course.

Not much better pictures in slalom hill the next day, but what

can I do with so much weather?

We had certainly seen the snow and we tried skiing

(I`m sure sore in the body today)

Light for 2012

In the morning I drive to the mountains to find snow..
It is a strange thing - when I have lot of snow around the house and have to dig out my car every day, I hate the snow. But, when I do not have snow.. ah, I miss it!
We are the owners of the snow!
You know what happens now? A whole bunch of kids born in December without skis on their feet. We are going to lose many Olympic gold because of this. Well, after all storms and the waves along the coast, we may have some good sufers in the future.

Today there were no waves when I walked along the coast. It was just great light from heaven!
A small piece of my world. It is filled with light. Even without snow..

It is not easy to get the right Christmas spirit, when it is warm and no

snow outside. Have you seen someone who have glowing hearts on

the Christmas tree before? Neither do I.. Just cheat. I created a form

that I put in front of the lens, it was pretty cool.

Did it just to have something to write about. Besides, I have not

taken many pictures lately..

Malin - Christmas Eve. Here was the real bokeh. I should have

had the heart..

Levi is hopeful.

Well, it has not happened so much in recent days.

I made a video recording of SpiderDan in the garage.

It is quite embarrassing.. hehe.

So, you know for sure that I need some action soon..

Me and a heart..

You know, a lot of my heart is in Israel

And I love to fly!

My neighbor Mrs. Dogfighter has wanted to travel to

to Israel for 25 years.. and her husband is afraid to fly.

Well, I suggested that we could go together!

You know that I am a very nice person:-)

How much I love being here, in the history and the light, can not be described.

The story I can not always take to me, but.. there`s something about that Light..

I love to breathe in..

This is some ways myself..

She is looking for some love and hearts..

I have several neighbors who want to travel to Israel.. for a long time, actually.

I know some of those reading this blog..

Cooking food in the wilderness.

I bet you think this is a special meal to celebrate wedding anniversary.

When I was back home in Norway, I found that I have only seen my

SpiderDan half of this year.. How is it to be his wife only six months of the year?

Well, I get used to it.. And I never give him fat food..even if it`s wedding day!

(we had to celebrate it in advance.. for he was leaving again..)

We are so lucky to find much pleasure in being out in nature.

These are the best days of our lives!

So that was what we did in late November..

We paddled in this water and was not stopped by the ice.

December

This is what I have to go through the entire December at the office..
This is weird, I like hearts.. I love hearts.. but, this is like pain in my soul!
One of my colleagues have decorated the tree with all red he could find.

There have been so many dark days in Desember..

People like to sit inside by the fireplace and light a candle..,
it is not me. Fortunately there were some days when I saw the
light outside!

And some heavenly fires!
Today is the winter solstice, so we can just meet brighter times:-)
We have had snow in 2 days, but it will disappear with the sun
and many degrees before Christmas.

My world has become so hot that soon it will grow
palm trees in the streets..

A few days left until Christmas Eve
A kid was born

It exactly at this point.. after picture no 3. I have nothing to do.. That`s when I think of the aunts who get photo books for Christmas. How much do you think they want a picture of me with a new hobby? Baking or knitting?
It will never happen!!:-)

September

September should be one of the most colorful month

While my SpiderDan was never home..

I was kissed by the Northern Light

Serveral aircraft passing in the night.. I wonder where they`re going

I have no airline ticket this month..

..I have nothing to do.

I was punished for that I had too much to do the

2 previous months..

I tried to find a new hobby..

I even tried to be interested in Henrik Ibsen.

Just because he lived in my town for some years.

He was an apothecary`s apprentice behind these windows.

I remember I got a quote from Ibsen when I was 16: (freely translated)

"Eternal owned only the lost"

"Evig eies kun det tapte"

Finally I went with my kids to Ibsen photo studio instead.

They are very good indeed!

October

I found a new hobby..

Do not look at me. Look at the mess around!

After this day I was hypochondriac.

I got the flu, colds and headaches for weeks, months.. I`m not quite myself yet..

I`m still missing a couple of dives to my certificate. The instructors have not had

time when I`m healthy.. so time will tell if they have time before I get to old.

Of course, this spiderkid was not sick after a bath.

He is never sick! It is because he eats so much broccoli

and he loves to be healthy. He think he gets extra attention..

I spend much time painting with my camera.

The nature and the colors could not be more beautiful..

It was a great bonus to see these Canadian geese. They are not so

common in my area, but now I know what water they are

located in.

I love the light in the forest at this time of year.

I wish I could show you exactly the way it is..

We hung a bit in the trees again

and take a leap into the next month..

Now, I just have to live some more days in Desember..

to have something to fill in the calender for the rest of the year..

Frost

Weather changes during the night.

My car was frozen to the ground and I spent about 30 minutes

to scrape the windows free of ice, but I was happy,

because I know the Father of this..

And he has done one thing that matches the frost better than anything else..

Have you any idea?

I saw this decorations in a three near the beach.

Have no idea what tradition this is.. do you have?

I went to the cemetery. I have no relatives to light candles for,

but I enjoy being here..

I can not remember if I`ve ever looked forward to Christmas..
Looking forward to decorating the Christmas tree,
the red Christmas ornaments, balls and lights
Glitter and snow
Bake cakes
Buying gift and receive gifts
I can not remember if I had the "right" Christmas spirit, "everyone" is talking about,
it is missing if there is zero snow.. I can not remember.
I can not remember a Christmas that is worth remembering...

Form the adult life..
If I could just pick one of these hearts..

What happened in 2011 - #4

You have probably guessed that I`m home alone.. since I have time to dig so deep into my archives.

Now I have spent so much time in the cyber world that I have not had time to wash for Christmas.. and here is no cake. I have not changed buld in one of the toilets and I`m cold because I have not had time to put wood in the fireplace. And all of my 15 orchids would die if I do not close this web access soon.
Thank God that my SpiderDan be home in a few days.. I just say mountains, snow and skiing!:-)

My world was busy in July and August..

July

My SpiderDan was so keen to climb around on different intallations..

I could barely see him. I had to go to Riga to meet him..

I had to go through many scary neighborhood. But, take a good look.

There are hearts in the window.

This is near Sigulda, located about 5 mil north of Riga. This area is

called "little Switzerland", I have no idea why?

However, this is the "mountain" in Latvia. It is not stone, but hills.

I have not seen a single boulder in Latvia, although I have driven through

the country by train. Not a single rock! I have not been in Jurmula, they may

have a beach full of stones there.. I check it next time!

So, where do they get all these bricks from?

We had time to visit the old city of Riga, and saw many beautiful

buildings and churches.

Later - it was a lot of water activity.

This kids just love water sport!

so does old father..

He do not think he is too old to do anything.. I can reveal that he

must pratice a lot.

July 22, we had the saddest day ever for our country..

After the terrorist attack in Oslo and Utøya where nearly 80 people were killed.

Most young people. A whole little nation cried.. even the sky cried for many days.

However, rarely have so many people walking around

shown each other their love.. ♥

I was one second too late.. to get the number 22.

So I fixet it in Photoshop..cool?

August

A beach in my hometown. Nights I live for..

One of the most beautiful Summer nights. A taste of Aurora,

but it was to light this time of year.

I do not know the meaning of this picture..

We were so privileged that we could go to Zakopane and

the Tatra Mountain on the border between Poland and Slovakia.

Here we are at the beginning of a very long walk..

After 5 hours walk.. we were here, at about 2000 meters.

Here we are in Poland and look over the mountains in Slovakia.

We had 4 hours walk back down.

Beautiful view!

5 pound valley.

Before this trip, SpiderDan alway said that he will not go on a long

hike with me, because he is sure I will complain after 30 minutes.

Well, I must have done a very good job this time,

(9 hours! Without complain. Respect!)

because when we got home he talked about that we had to

go to Galdhøpiggen (Norway`s highest mountain).

Just one day with climbing..

Because of a lot of changing weather in the Tatra mountains.

I think it`s beautiful and powerful.

Along the road in Slovakia we saw this cute fox.

This is only a small part of what we were doing these 2 months.

I must stop here.. so maybe I can put a stick in the fireplace.

This day, one of the kids deliver me his wish list for Christmas:

May and spring was here!

I was awakened by birds danced and chatted outside my bedroom window.

We ate lots of sweet strawberries.

Bread with strawberries and sugar! Have never heard of it before

I came to Sørlandet. My mother would never allowed it!

Celebrating our country the seventeenth with a royal wave.

And for once, the outfit was ok!

June

I spent time to take pictures of workers taking care of my city and rock for a good cause.

The pictures even came in the newspaper.

I personally fell for the style of the priest.

We spend time jumping around in our rocky and watery world.

We wasted water in the garden..

It must have been one of those days it was not allowed to use water spreader

Can you ever believe that we can run out of water?

Hung upside down, as soon as we had a chance..

We hung around, looking for new climbing holds..

There was a lot of weather.., but my city is beautiful, even without the sun.

The girl must have the world`s best Summer job! And he is

one of my heroes!

(Another disclosure: I have been sailing for many years..in my past life, haha)

I sailed with them.. hm, I do not think we had the sails up..

but I got large fresh shrimp.

What happend in 2011 - part 2

As I write this I am in the most hectic make-christmas-gift time..

I have made photo books, you know aunts who has everything, except internet.

It`s hard.. I have to live a whole year..., to get something to this photo book.

Things would have been easier if they had not been so afraid of Mr. Google and his friends:-)

It not just for Christmas is hectic.. it was certainly in parts of these 2 months also..

March

We still had too much snow..,

but I saw the Northern Light 3 times in March.

We survived on grilled hot dogs in the woods

Finnaly, I was so tired of the snow and winter that I sat down

by the sea to waiting for the spring.

The truth is that I remember this day very well. I hate the snow when

I went out, but I loved it when I was here. One of the most

beautiful days at sea, just me and my Canon..

I can not explain to you how much I love to live in a quite place

where I can find places like this.. and how much I love having

a plane ticket in my mail box.. for more busy places for the next month..

I can always be back here:-)

Awesome!

9 April and slippers <3

I was filled with hope. It could be possible that we got

spring this year too.

We traveled with the kids to Israel.

Here we are at Naot Farm in the Negev desert.

The kids were most impressed with all the animals they saw...

And this tank.

They just loved Eilat! And all the colorful fish.

It was 40 degrees this day.

A little colder in Jerusalem

They think it was exciting to visit the Wailing Wall.

And they liked to go with kipa.

And we met Dina from the blog Jerusalem Hills daily photo

Puh!

Right after I came home from Israel, I traveled to Ukraine and Kiev.

I have never seen so many different cars.

This is guaranteed less than my little red..

I visit the ghost town Pripyat and

I was on top of this neighborhood. You now how I like to be on top..

50 000 people used to live here.

I was this close to the reactor 4 in Chernobyl.

This is the cafeteria to the workers of Chernobyl.

It looks like I have something in my mouth..,

but do you think I ate something here? Never!

If you ever go here.. do not use the toilet. This is where

they use notebooks with Russian letters as toilet paper.

It was my traveling companion Mrs Dogfighters first trip to Israel. Unlike me, she is not afraid of guides.. and she often accompanied by English speaking guides, just in case she could get some more information than I could give her. She wanted to know the name of each building and church we saw, actually on each stone!

In addition, she would take on everything and check what was behind each door.. even where it was locked, she tried to get in.

While she collected historical information, I used my eye and camera to shoot everything I saw.

There was a lot of pictures...

I often think when I study people on the street.. It might looks a little sad from my eye, but perhaps not so certain that we are so much more happy in our world where we are never really satisfied.. we always want more. And we forget to notice the little things that can delight us more than anything.

It is a very nice thing for me, looking at people through my lens. And I can not do it in a better place than Israel:-)

Have gone through my archives to check where we spent our

time and what we did in 2011.

January

It all bagan with a New Year`s bath!

Can you believe it?

There were many cold days, but I had my beautiful office view.

Many days the sky was painted.

We drow to the mountain to play with downhill skiing and snowboard.

And we spend some time climbing in the garage

February

We had too much snow..

People hung around in the trees with skis on their feet!

"My" birds were fed

I and others longed for the spring!

Veiviser bukse og Utsikten fjellstøvel

Her er ikke storm, men det er mye berg i hvert fall!:-)

Det er Veiviser bukse jeg vil reklamere for. Den er blitt min favorittbukse på tur og kan brukes i all slags vær. Den holder vind og vær ute også er den ganske stilig. Jeg vet ikke om den buksen selges lenger, men jeg anbefaler den på det sterkeste.

Veldig godt kledd på kajakktur.

Busken passer utmerket til Isvik vattert vest.

Masada

My view from the cable car.
A piece of Masada to right and Dead Sea in front.

Masada is located along the edge of the Judean Desert that overlooks the Dead Sea.

447 meter above sea level. Since the dead sea is located over 400 meters below sea

level.. this is only a few meters above sea level:-) Not exactly a summit, but it`s

always fun to be on top of a mountain.

Oh, of course, I took a small boulder, but no pictures.

Here is a lot of history - in every stone!

Masada is one of the oldest archaeological finds, and has become a symbol

of the ancient kingdom of Israel, violent destruction, Jewish heroism and courage.

King Herod the Great built a huge palace on Masada in the year 36 bc.

Because of the remote location with steep cliffs on all sides, he secured

himself against enemies so that he could enjoy life and his own power.

Maybe this is a piece of Herod`s bathhouse.

In 70 ac when the Roman brutal destruction of the second Jewish Temple

in Jerusalem, Jews were forced into slavery or to escape out of the country.

A group of Jewish Zealots found an alternative solution. Almost 1000 of

them managed to take over the Roman Masada, and found safety in the stronghold.

The Romans sent more troops to retake the palace, without success.

After three years they decided to give up the fight and burn the palace.

But when they rushed in to capture the Zelots, they found that almost all

had committed suicide. Both men, women and children would rather kill

themselves than live the rest of their lives as slaves to the Romans.

Eeach man killed his wife and children, and then men killed

each other until the last man set fire to everything and killed himself.

How the story was known -

Two women and five children had survived the mass suicide by hiding in a cistern.

Tower - Simonstad station

I took this picture on Sunday when we drove home in the storm.. water tower shone so great along the way, so I just had to stop to take a picture. And I found something to put the camera on.
In 2010 it was 100 years since Simonstad station was opened. It was closed in 1967, and the buildings fell due, until water tower friends was founded by a number of tower fans in Åmli.
The water tower has been restored with spout, water and electricity.
An old train has also been restored, standing on the rails in the background, perhaps difficult to see in the dark. If you take a good look, you`ll see that they have hung a Santa on the tower.

Extremely normal weekend

I feel that this weekend has been as long as a week..

This rocky place right in front is Trågefjellet in Åmli.

Here we have driven about 8 mil with kayaks on car roof,

so is that SpiderDan find that we have forgotten life jackets

and some other equipment that is very nice to have..

It did not stop us from paddling..

Beautiful and quiet before the storm.

Ice on the water!

Not even ice stopped my SpiderDan!

He think this was very funny

It rains in the evening and I sit down to take some night pictures.

I hold an umbrella over the camera.

Then there are the most typical thing that happens..

Someone (he) jump into the water, right in front of my camera,

with a maglight in his hand.

Of course, it is my husband - he must have a night bath!

So normally. He does everything he can for attention!

They have no light in this community.. I think.

So I sat here and waited for a car to pass the bridge and make a little light.

And I made a little light by my self with my head light.

Next day it was a bit more wind so we drove up to Birtedalen,

and just when SpiderDan has told me that we only need one car.

That we have to sell the 2 we have to buy a new one

(I will not sell my little red!)

Then it happens...

Suddenly one of the kayak fell of the car roof and

hit one of the windows behind, so it crushes!

The kayak continues to sail down the road and SpiderDan

stop the car and runs after the kayak down the hill..

I was so surprised that I forgot to take pictures..

I dared not either, thought it was best to be a helper:-)

We had to patch up the window.. on the road again!

Then we drove to Fyresdal and up Fyresdalsheiene.

We stopped at the top and there we were really hit by the storm Berit.

What kind of name for a storm? Who decides that?

We had not notice any wind when we sat in the car, but as I

opened the door, thing started to blow out.

I could not stand still to shoot!

And when my SpiderDan open the car door, it was taken

by the wind, so it was almost completely destroyed.

Maybe he want so much a new car..?

This is a snow cover tunnel.

In case of snow avalanche (?)

It is very much weather here..

After this, the storm was only worse.. it felt just like this picture!

We saw many trees that had snapped and fell into the road

and there were branches and sticks that blew around and hit our

car several times.

And well, it was a perfect weekend, just as I like it!

Sweet days in France

In the beggining..

There was something about an apple..

Ups!

Most days latly have looked like this!

Too many clouds and rain.

A small glimmer of hope to see..

Romantic hope?

I will go back to nature this weekend with my SpiderDan to celebrate wedding anniversary.

And it will be very simple.. no TV or internet. Far out in the woods and a river..

Not that in the picture, but a very nice one!

We will not even have a cake, haha

I will bake homemade crackers that we can take with us. I hate to bake, but this is very simple, good and healthy crackers. I`d like to give you the recipe for this crackers.., but it is difficult in English, so if you try this recipe, do not blame me if anything goes wrong!:-)

Crackers/Knekkebrød

3,5 ounces wholemeal rye/3,5 dl sammalt rug
3,5 ounces oatmeal/3,5 dl havregryn
1,5 ounces sesame/1,5 dl sesamfrø/
2 ounces sunflower seed/2 dl solsikkefrø
1 ounces flax seed/1 dl linfrø
1 ounces walnuts/1 dl valnøtter
1 teaspoon salt/1 teskje salt
7 ounces water/7 dl vann

Put all ingredients in a food processor (or use blender), mix well. Spread the dough over 2 baking trays.
Bake at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes. Trim or cut (I used a pizza cutter) to fit pieces. Place on a rack and into the oven again with the door ajar for about 15-25 minutes.

Putt alle ingrediensene i en kjøkkenmaskin (eller bruk stavmikser), bland godt. Smør deigen utover 2 stekebrett. Stek på 180 grader i ca 10 minutter. Skjær eller klipp (jeg brukte pizzakutter) til passe stykker.
Legg på rist og sett inn i ovnen igjen med døra på gløtt i ca 15-25 minutter.

What happens in the head of these kids? Are they threatened by my camera? Does my Canon looks like a big dangerous weapon? It may seem to look as if they think I have a lot bigger weapon. The boy is about to drop his weapon and the girl looks really scared.. and what about the boy in the left corner?
Do I look so scary? I hope not frighten them too much..
They are so cute.. and look how he hold his yellow car..

Walk around gold

It takes some time to sort thousand of photos from a trip..

Walks from Mt Olives down to Gethsemane is special.

All the pictures are not from the same day.

Overview of Jerusalem.

Right in front of me is the beginning of the old Jewish cemetery.

It should be over 3000 years old. Notice the fence.. can you see the hearts?

It is special to walk in the middle of this ancient story..

The Norwegian name of this gate is much nicer.

On the right side, now I have Church of Maria Magdalene.

Gold!?

It is written in the Chronicles that King Solomon made

silver and gold as common as rock in Jerusalem...

Well, when you are walking around these streets it is like you

are walking on gold.. and everything around you looks like gold.

On holy ground!

At the foot of the Mount of Olives.

Church of Gethsemane or All Nations Church (as I think it`s called)

Outside the church are some very old olive tree. It was here in the garden of Gethsemane

Jesus had his prayer fight.

"And he went a little farther, and fell on His face and prayed, saying,

"O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless,

not as I will, but as Thou wilt." (Mat 26:39)

A little peek inside this church.

When we came out of the church, it turned out this heart in the sky.

Yes! You see that it is a heart? A heart of gold!

I think that psalm no 35 was very difficult to find picture that matched. And I can not really tell

if it is most sad or happy.

1: Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me;

Fight against those who fight against me.

2: Take hold of shield and buckler,

And stand up for my help.

6: Let their way be dark and slippery,

And let the angel of the LORD pursue them.

7: For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit,

The picture is from my way down in the valley of Ein Fara. This place is about 20 min drive east of Jerusalem.

The ghost town Pripyat, 25 years later..(again)

The video I made from Chernobyl/Pripyat with picture I took when I travel there has been banned on Youtube for US and a bunch of other nations. Something about copyright on the song I had chosen. Since some in US really liked it so much, I had to create a new one. It is of course not identical, probably not exactly the same photos either. (The old video is still on Youtube and can be seen in Norway at least)
"The ghost town Pripyat, 25 years later.." is still the most popular search to end up on this blog.

It was difficult to find a new song that fits. The choice fell on When the children cry/White Lion.
This is made especially to Michelle in US.

I love to travel, but it`s good to come home to my quiet land..

A walk in the nature is the best for my soul! And everything is as normal..

After about 15 minutes walk.

Levi: "Mamma, we have gone for over an hour now, without a break!"

Me: "Do you know how far I walked in blah, blah.."

Petter: "Mamma, do not boast!"

Well, I know these kids can not sit still for more than 1 minute,

so what`s the point of taking breaks..

Why?

When I try to find some peace and quiet of mind.. always some crazy people pop up!

These were some kind of kick off with TV to film them. They recognized us too..

from a place I have no idea.. and they would lend climbing helmets.. ah!

Of course, I have always a climbing helmet in my pocket?

I tell you, these must be cyclists. It is only those who are so mad that they bathe in

the middle of November.

The sky is the same! So changing, but wow so beautiful!

Looks dramatic, but there was no rain this day.

About 12 degrees and still no snow.

Last year we had snow in late October.

I do not think we get snow until late in Desember:-)

I`m happy to drive up to the mountain

if I want to go skiing.

The kids are waiting for x-mas and we should take some pictures for

x-mas cards on Sunday.., well everything is just normal there as well..

Petter stamped in the pan "Ibsen Foto Studio" at once we came to the studio..

when I asked what that meant? He just: "Advertising stunt!"

After that it was just acting.. with tears and blood!

I think they have a future as actors.

No x-mas cards to grannies..!

As we drove home from the studio, we saw our neighborhood like this.

I found some peace in this landscape.

My own Special Guide

I never travel on guided group tours because I want the freedom to make my own choices about what I want to see and to be impulsive. Another thing is that I can not have so much information from a person`s voice for a long time. I just fall into my own world..
We had a guide for 1.5 hours in the Western Wall tunnels in Jerusalem, it was painful! Dare not to think about how it will be with such a person a week or longer..
I am glad to have my own very best guide, the Almighty!

Some plans I usually have about what I want to see, but often there are thing that are not planned - the best experiences. We had absolutely no plans to visit Jericho and Bethlehem, but we suddenly had a driver who could take us there.. we just had to go!
I had heard from Norwegian friends who have been there that it was a lot of problems with borders and also that it could be dangerous without being in a group. Well, it`s very overrated! I have rarely been at more peaceful places (at least that day). And thanks to our driver, we were not even checked at the border.

Jericho is said to be the world`s oldest city, but also one of the poorest. When we took out money in the bank machine, we received 50 shekel less than we have entered. Maybe some kind of sacrifice? Well, I`m not disappointed.. I think the photo of Arab Bank is worth more than 50 shekel!

Perhaps it is one of the most dirty places too.. garbage in the streets everywhere..

Mount of Temptation - The church marks the place where Jesus was tempted by the devil.

"And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. "But He answered and said, "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Read the rest of the story in Matthew 4)

Photo to the right is a bit of The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. It is one of the oldest churches in the world. The structure is built over the cave that marks the birthplace of Jesus.

Models in Bethlehem

I would try to relax, well it`s not easy, but after dark it is best to stay at the hotel. Going to bed early to get the most out of next day when it is bright.
I have been on top of Masada with cable car. Wonderful view! Visit the Dead sea, Jericho and Bethlehem. It was very special to visit Bethlehem Church. Jesus birth church and the oldest church in the Holy Land.
We have walked several hours this day.. Mrs Dogfighter forgot her camera in a shop in old city.. Not very smart! Well, we walked more than an extra hour before I found the shop again!
Tomorrow I am lucky to drive to Ein Fara to see and touch some lime stone!:-)

Because of my constant headache I must try to get just enogh coffee!

Flying away!

First of all, a big thanks to KLM (Sorry that I choose a pink wing photo, but that`s a bit feminine). You are just so amazing service minded. Norwegians have a lot to learn from you! I truly believe KLM`s flight hostesses working for me. And you serve me coffee and food for free, I may pay for this (I am not that blond) when I buy my ticket, but it does not matter.. you are simply the best!

When I flying away, I can expect that people will not bother me with pone calls at all hours. I can say ff## to read my mail. I can throw Internet in the rocks. No access! What a wonderful phrase! (This works not always, but I try) I do not have to bother with the mask I put on in the morning. I may well have magnesium in half of my face.. nobody cares! I can relax!:-)

I did not check the last time I was there. It bothers me:-)
The reason I only have a 2 sec video is just because I pressed the wrong button. And I lost all pictures of the view around when I was transferring them to hard disk. And I only climb this route because of the view!
This time I go here with Mrs Dogfighter and she is definitely not a climber, so it depends if I have to reach this peak from the backside of the mountain.. time will tell..

I should write a list. "Do not forget" list.

But, I dislike lists.. so I ended up use all the post-it notes on this!

And I forgot to write a S H M I L Y.. now I have no more post-it..

Well, the most important thing is passport, and I will never forget!

What do you think SpiderDan says when he comes home to this new TV screen?

This is coffee with chocolate! How can I see that this is with chocolate?
I have no idea.. No known letters.
But I`ll find it without the chocolate, because I have promised to buy one for my SpiderDan.. it is the only thing he wants! Not a very romantic gift, but necessary.
He do not remember anything without coffee!

My kids want me to buy something exclusive, no one else have.. easy!
Suggestions would be appreciated!

When the snow factory soon taking over my country I can pack my flip-flop and give them a flight! Who is the lucky pair? Pink, white or blue.. Ah! Hard to choose.

The yellow thing he trows (picture left) is not a big apple. It is something found..

..at beach. Something he found was good exercise for the balance.

The beach was full of autumn leaves.

And the winter is almost here.. we set the clock one hour back this day.

It is lighter in the morning, but it gets dark before 6 in the afternoon and

even earlier in only a little while.

It is a bit sad with these short days..

But the mood is not bad when I have kids who make things like this..

I get some questions from time to time, both here and my photoblog. How did you take that picture?

35 mm, f/22, ISO 400, 30 sec

Stars and stripes.

Because of the long shutter speed you can not see the cars driving by, you only see the lights that create stripes. This works best at night (or in in daytime you can do this with the sun and prints in water). Set the camera with a minimum aperture, such as f/22. The picture will get very dark with a small aperture, so you have to set the shutter speed and ISO accordingly. You need a tripod, or use a rock, since you most likely need a long shutter speed. If you only want stars you do not need 30 sec shutter time. Try it out.

300 mm, f/5.6, ISO 3200, 1/1600 sec. The picture is cropped.

Clear wings
It is almost impossible (for an amateur like me) to get the best bird photos with wings as clear as this. So this is as simple as I used the sports setting and snapped several pictures (a lot). The problem with using the sport setting and much zoom is that the ISO is very high and the quality of the picture worse. I do this when it is very light outside. I do not like to use ISO higher than 1600.

18 mm, f 3/5, ISO 800, 1/15 sec

I took this picture yesterday. I shoot while I walk, with a bit of a long shutter speed and it was getting a little dark. I often snap some pictures while I walk. I think this is a cool picture! So simple, just walk and shoot. No Photoshop.

It is the eye that photograph and see the subject.. however, patience is in the body.

You have to be patient to get at robin to stick tongue to you..:-)

The days pass too quickly and there is so much I should have done. I have been in bad shape for almost 14 days.. so I have not been able to train or do anything sensible. I`v played scrabble and I have bath 3 times in my bathtub.. it otherwise a once a year thing. Well, I think I`m a little better today.. I need to get in shape, since it is only a short time until I fly away with Mrs Dogfighter.

I drive the kids to exercise and all other places..

Some days we do not have time to eat dinner after work and school,

because we have to run to the training.

So we just throw in some fruit!

After training it is homework and pasta.

I love carbohydrates!:-)

Grimstad Church

It is not always I drive home while the kids train.

Sometimes I take my camera and coffee too.

I find a place to relax while waiting for the kids.

Here I am at top of Grimstad.

Grimstad city is only 6 meters above sea level,

so it is not very high.

To the right it also gray, but the sun will be so happy to get through the clouds..

Strong, warm and nice.

I go down to the church park to take some pictures of autumn leaves

before it gets too dark and I have to pick up the kids..

We have been in the woods to look for the weasel. We did not see it..

The kids are not so happy to go into the woods to see "nothing" as they say.. they think it is a waste of time that they could spend on games or TV.. urgh!

I try to teach my kids to be patient and look for details,

but it is not easy!

In June 2006, the Israeli corporal Gilad Shalit was captured when armed Palestinians from the Gaza Strip attacked an Israeli military position on the Israeli side of the border.
After over 5 years in Hamas custody is Gilad Shalit now set free and returned home to Israel.

I could not follow the release on TV. But, I followed the update on Twitter and it was very touching.
Moved me to tears.
What a day it must be for him and his family.. Let`s hope he can fine peace and time with his family without journalists..
and,...give him an iPhone:-)

I took this picture on Saturday. The clods look a bit threatening from this side, but behind me the sky is almost blue. Nothing is as beautiful as nature`s own mirror. And when it`s so strong, I almost want to drown in it`s beauty. Fascinating! It shows me the secrets and truth at the same time. And maybe I can see something new.. I`v never seen before.

There are moose hunting this weekend, so we could not go so far into the forest.

It`s scary when people run around in the wood with guns and hunting for a trophy..

These poor deer becomes dinner one day also.

I have to think about becoming a vegetarian!

A small diving lesson today. I will maybe finish my certificate next weekend.
It was sooo cool! I saw the most beautiful pink flower that was stuck on a rock.
That is to say.. my SpiderDan lifted it up an brought it slowly to my, held it in front of my face.
It was so beautiful and with perfect details! He showed it to me as if he would propose to me (again), well Spiderdama was not long in paradise.. After few seconds he took it away and put it back where he found it.. haha, I cheated you!

Sorry I can not give you any underwater photos yet. I must first learn to keep track of all the equipment.. there is plenty!

Friday
I sit at work, tired and waiting for unwanted things to happen.. Computer crash?
When my SpiderDan calling from the grocery store.. "Dinner?"
"Can you make a choice? I promise to not be disappointed!"
I get home from work and he is there to cook.
He tells me he has changed all the light bulbs.. I have forgotten. I would not forget it if it was apples I would change.. (It`s me who is the blonde in jokes)
And my husband even has a gift for me - a knife!?? How about an Apple??

After dinner..

The sun is shining and we can sit outside to plan the weekend.

October is pink! I hope you know why? Support the cancer society, breast cancer and buy a pink ribbon.

Or something else in pink from the webshop.
Not the kind of headwear which I have, of course.., however, it was the only pink I found right now.
It`s not that colt that I must have headwear, but I`m going out in the garage to climb. We got a new pack of climbing holds in the mail today and I hear my man hammers out there, so I`d better run out! I have no idea anymore why we call it garage.. taking with me my camera:-)
